OHQP HAS ALWAYS BEEN MY FAVORITE SQP. I’VE PARTICIPATED FOR MANY YEARS FROM OHIO, COSTA RICA AND FLORIDA. I WAS HOPING FOR A NEW PERSONAL HIGH QSO COUNT THIS YEAR BUT WAS VERY DISAPPOINTED WITH TERRIBLE PROPAGATION FROM HERE IN FLORIDA. I DIDN’T HEAR ANY OH STATIONS ON 40 DURING THE AFTERNOON, WHICH IS UNUSUAL. 20 METERS WAS NOT VERY PRODUCTIVE EITHER. 40 METERS AFTER DARK WAS OK. 80 WAS A CHALLENGE WITH MY LITTLE ANTENNA SYSTEM. ALL IN ALL, MY QSO COUNT WAS HALF OF LAST YEAR, BUT I STILL ENJOYED THE PARTY. NEXT YEAR I WILL GIVE IT ANOTHER GO… AA4TI
MADE A HUGE MISTAKE IN THINKING THAT THIS YEAR MIGHT BE SIMILAR
TO LAST YEAR; THIS YEAR DID NOT COME CLOSE. LOST A LOT OF TIME
DURING THE DAY TO UNEXPECTED EVENTS THEN HAD TROUBLE FINDING
CONTACTS. COULD NOT THE HEAR MOBILES VERY WELL.
DEAD, 20 SOMEWHAT OK, 40 METERS HAD ITS MOMENTS AND 80 METERS WAS
VERY NOISY. HAD A LOT OF DIFFICULTY PULLING OUT CALLERS ON 80.

FIRST TIME TRYING THE ROVER EXPERIENCE. WORKED OUT PRETTY WELL EVEN THOUGH THE HEAT WAS TOUGH ON THE BODY AND THE EQUIPMENT HAD SOME ISSUES FROM IT AS WELL. LEARNED SOME THINGS AND HOPE TO RETURN AS A ROVER IN 2022. 73-ALAN-N8CJ WW8OH
